NeverStopMoving 365 Swim

Our Program:

Our program is designed to deliver water safety and swim instruction to your children in your own pool. There is no better place for your child to learn than in an environment they are already familiar with. We foster a learning environment to develop water safety techniques, breath control, improve confidence in and around the water, and enhance their swim skills, no matter what level they are starting at. Our progressive and personalized swimming curriculum is idea for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. All of our instructors are passionate about spreading their love and joy for the water to their clients and are eager to help them reach their swimming goals.

What to expect in our lessons:

Our instructors travel to your own backyard pool and brings all equipment

We suggest for our private lessons that your swimmer be 1:1 with the instructor in the water to help foster an environment where your swimmer will build positive rapport with their instructor. We suggest watching the lesson from out of sight line of the swimmer (ex. From a window or deck where you can see the lesson but the swimmer cannot see you) this helps keep the swimmers full attention on their instructor and swim cues.

Lesson structure includes breath control activities (cup submersions, bubbles, pop ins), learning to understand their own buoyancy with floating progressions, supporting kicks, survival rolling from front to back, getting to the side of the pool, learning to get out of the pool, safety jumps, stroke development.

FAQ | My child is shy and slow to warm up to others:

Have them bring to the lesson a favorite toy to share with their Coach. If it floats/or is pool appropriate they can use it in the lesson. If it is their favorite non-water proof toy (ex. stuffed animal) we can prop it somewhere to “watch” the lesson.

Let us know some of their favorite characters/shows/interests and we can let their Coach know what holds their interest- so their Coach can incorporate their interests into the conversation at swim.

Talk about the lessons in a positive way throughout the week or as they approach lesson time, so they can anticipate it is becoming part of their routine (Your swim coach is coming tomorrow to swim and play with you in the pool).

FAQ | Should I stop lessons if my child cries?

It is completely normal for your child to cry during the swim lesson, especially if it is one of your child’s first lessons. Depending on your child’s history in the water they may have some feelings of fear, nervousness and/or anxiety around the water and on top of those feelings, your child may be going through the normal developmental process of separation anxiety. Based on our professional experience and opinion your child will learn best and reach their swim goals faster if they are 1-1 with their instructor in the water. Even if your child is crying, keep in mind they are still learning. Our instructors are trained to work through the tears while making the lesson both fun and productive. As your child builds trust and rapport with their instructor you should see less tears and way more proud smiles and laughs! It may take some time but with all skills your child is learning it takes repetition and patterning for your child to reach their swim and water safety goals.

FAQ | How many lessons will my child need?

There is no exact number of lessons you will need to fully grasp our swimming and water safety curriculum. Our lessons are individualized to meet the needs our your little one so their progress is also customized to make sure they are learning in an environment that is nurturing and empowering to them. Water safety skills and swimming skills can always be refreshed and refined. We have clients who sign up for classes all year round (if you have access to an indoor pool), clients who swim multiple days a week in the beginning of the summer to jump start the swim season, and others who choose to swim once a week through the summer. We will always work to meet you and your families needs to help meet your families swimming goals.

FAQ | What is your weather related cancelation policy?

All sessions will continue in light rain. Sessions will be suspended if rain causes the pool to become unsafe. Unsafe swimming conditions in rain are when rain is heavy enough to reduce visibility and you are unable to see the bottom of the shallow end of the pool. Sessions will also be suspended for thunder and/or lightning. When possible, sessions will be paused for a short period to allow sudden weather to pass and sessions will continue with the remaining time left in the session. If conditions worsen or there is no indication of weather clearing the NSM365 Coach may decide to discontinue the lesson. Session will either be rescheduled with a token to your account or if less than half of the time is left, leftover session time will be added to a future lesson. In the cases of major predicted storms and inclement weather (flooding, hurricanes, tropical storms, etc.) NeverStopMoving365 may close and cancel all booked sessions for that day. You will be notified by a notification on the APP and/or email by 8pm for all scheduled morning sessions before 12 pm or by 8am for all afternoon and evening sessions scheduled for after 12pm. In this case you will receive a token in your account to rebook any missed sessions due to the storm or to use the token toward booking future sessions.

FAQ | Are puddle jumpers a good way to practice?

We urge you to use caution and to educate yourself when depending on puddle jumpers. Puddle jumpers and other life jackets that keep your child in a vertical position in the water. This vertical position is referred to as the “drowning position” as your body needs to work hard to stay afloat. Puddle jumpers and other life vests can give swimmers a false sense of security and develop muscle memory of getting vertical in the water.

Our instructors are trained in getting your child in a horizontal position in the water which is ideal for floating and recovery while swimming. It is important that your child can learn to get into and maintain this position if they ever fell into the water, or if they need to rest while in the water.

The best way for your child to learn to swim is without personal flotation devices, this way they can learn to understand and feel their own buoyancy in the water. Our swimming instructors will use water assistance tools to help children explore their own buoyancy and work on proper positioning by the goal is to wean off of these tools. Teaching tools they may use are: pool noodles, kickboard, swimming barbel which all aide in getting the swimmer in the horizontal positioning.
